 | | In 1987, Tennis Magazine rated the Midland Community Tennis Center one of the top 25 clubs in the United States. | Started in 1974, the Midland Tennis is one of the premiere Tennis Centers in the Nation. With a 15-acre land donation from The Dow Chemical Company and a $2 million donation from the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, the Tennis Center became a reality.
Besides having 16 indoor courts, the center also has 16 outdoor courts for use in warmer weather. In 1996, The Tennis Center underwent a $1.5 million renovation of their interior lobby, pro shop, nursery and office area. Besides these renovations, The Center added a pole barn, repaved its parking lot and was made handicapped accessible.
 | | The Pro Shop offers clothing,racquets and other products at affordable prices. | Lessons for all ages are offered and membership provides access to tennis leagues, tournaments and social activities. Since 1989, The Center has hosted the Dow Corning $50,000 USTA Women’s Challenger. This years Challlenger will be held February 13th to the 20th, 2000.
